Thomas "Geoff" Knight, founder of Thomas Knight (TKT) Turbo Upgrades & Superchargers, has designed performance systems for racers and shops since 1978. Formerly known as Thomas Knight Turbos, our company is moving away from turbochargers in favor of the more reliable Eaton roots-type supercharger that forms the core of all our designs. And we continue to push the boundaries of performance technology with our revolutionary ESC-Series Electric Superchargers™. We will never let you down in our quest for unprecedented power. Geoff has been a boosthead since he turbocharged his 1972 Capri 2.6 V6, running 14.2 @ 95mph at 14PSI through a carb. Geoff worked at Turbo Tech in the late '70s working with aircraft and industrial turbochargers. In 1978, he built a single-turbo Corvette, followed by a twin turbo Corvette in 1980 that made 500hp at the wheels with 10psi of boost and Edelbrock fuel injection. In 1982 he put a twin turbo Corvair engine in a 1967 Volkswagen Type 3. It ran 13's on street rubber (they din't call him "Turbohippy" for nothing!). From the early 80's through the mid-'90s, Geoff developed systems for a wide selection of vehicles (including a now-legendary twin turbo kit for the 5.0 Mustang) under the company name Affordable Turbo Systems. In 1998 he changed the name to Thomas Knight Turbos and has specialized in sport compact performance ever since, most notably the Ford Probe, Mazda MX6/626 and Mitsubishi 3000GT platforms that comprise our most popular belt-driven kits. Over the years, we have built hundreds of kits and prototyped over 2000 different designs for private individuals and major manufacturers, from Ford Motor Sports and Vortech to a custom turbo Harley-Davidson. Our facility is located on private property in the Redlands, a rural district approx. 30 miles southwest of downtown Miami. We do not have a public storefront and meet with customers by appointment only.
"Well i just got back from looking at [the ESC 400] and i have to say that i thought i was going to see some ghetto setup on the cars or what not, but everything was well done. props to his work. then we started talking about how everything worked and he took me for a ride in one of his test cars... we came to a dead stop and he hit the little switch and the tires let go. for a 2ton stock everythin i was impressed. went back to his shop and thats where i was most impressed. after talking for a while. this does work for smaller cars, so we will have to wait and see what happens with the 3.8. much respect to him along with all of his hard work." http://www.3.8mustang.com/forum/showthread.php?t=57705
"I've worked with Geoff in the past with the Probe GT turbo kit. Great guy, and always stands behind his product. Gotta Say Kudos to Mr. GK, I know what he has on the block now is by far the best idea out yet for an electric SC. Getting the volume and compression delivery right is a difficult challenge. I know that if I had the money in hand right now, I would be the first in line to buy one of his superchargers. Mr. Knight has built a reputation and a business off his ability to put together some fantastic products... When I first opened my shop, my business partner was going to turbo his probe, so we started looking into options/companies. [Thomas Knight] came up as a very reputable company. We gave Mr. Knight a call and both my partner and I talked to him. He gave us the straght shoot on the kits and parts included with each kit...as well as the costs of the kits and extra parts. Mr. Knight spent well more time talking to us than most companies would have. While we have since opted to not go turbo on the Probe, if I ever were to consider purchasing a product from Mr. Knight, I wouldn't hesitate for one second. Mr. Knight's knowledge and willingness to help impressed me that much." http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26439&perpage=20&pagenumber=1
"Add a turbo? Don't even think about it. It's been tried, and people have failed, after spending a fortune. The only *affordable* big power mod for an NT (other than short-burst Nitrous) is to add a supercharger; they start at ~$5000 + labor for complete kits. A Knight SC is the only recommended one for our cars, and they run from 6psi (street legal) to something over 9psi (off-road only)." http://www.team3s.com/digests/v02n202.htm
"RR-racin.com gets all his major stuff and info from Thomas Knight Turbos in Miami. Talk to thomas knight and hell tell you all about what we have done to my car and also that it is way stronger and faster than we thought it would be..." http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_guestbook.pl?page_id=314631
"I have dealt with Geoff a lot over the years and of ALL the performance shop he is by far the best person to deal with. He is fair on prices and knows what he is doing. If there were ANY problems he bent over BACKWARDS to make it right! NO other shops did anything but took my money and ran. He makes a good quality kit for the money he charges. If you want to spend a lot more I have faith that he is the one I'd want to build the system for me. Time costs $$$$!!! and for the money he charges you get a lot of his time..." http://www.probetalk.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1701070182&perpage=25&pagenumber=2
